This article details the disassembly and assembly process of TAPEDRIVE, providing you with clear and practical guidance.
I. Disassembly Steps
During disassembly, be careful to protect small components (especially magnets) from loss or damage. It is recommended to prepare a toothpick and the magnet tool provided with the device in advance.
Press the Teflon strip: Gently press the Teflon strip on the device with two fingers. Its core function is to fix the internal magnets and prevent them from popping out during disassembly.
Remove the Teflon strip: Carefully pick out the pressed Teflon strip with a toothpick. Use gentle force to avoid scratching the device surface.
Collect internal magnets: Use the magnet provided with the device to attract and collect the internal magnets exposed under the Teflon strip one by one to prevent them from scattering and getting lost.
Pull out the tape: Pull the tape inside the device out with a bit of force to complete the disassembly.
II. Assembly Steps
The key to assembly lies in controlling the direction of the magnets. Strictly follow the rules for reversed/non-reversed placement to ensure the device functions properly.
Insert the tape: Push the tape into the corresponding installation position of the device with force to ensure it is properly seated.
Determine the magnet attraction direction: Observe the installation positions on the tape and find the correct direction where the magnets can attract each other (this is the basis for subsequent placement).
Place the 1st magnet: Note that the first magnet should be placed in reverse.
Place the 2nd magnet: The second magnet does not need to be reversed; place it in the normal direction.
Place the 3rd magnet: The third magnet should be placed in reverse.
Place the 4th magnet: The fourth magnet should also be placed in reverse.
Place the 5th magnet: The fifth magnet does not need to be reversed; place it in the normal direction.
Place the 6th magnet: The sixth magnet should be placed in reverse.
Reinstall the Teflon strip: Put the previously removed Teflon strip back into its original position, ensuring it fits perfectly and secures all magnets.
Reinstall other accessories: Put back all other disassembled accessories of the device one by one in their original positions.
Assembly completed: After confirming all components are properly installed, the TAPEDRIVE assembly process is finished.
III. Key Notes
Tool preparation: Be sure to prepare a toothpick (for picking the Teflon strip) and the matching magnet (for collecting internal magnets) before disassembly to avoid operational errors caused by searching for tools temporarily.
Magnet protection: Magnets are small and easy to adsorb and scatter. Keep pressing the Teflon strip during disassembly, and strictly place them according to the reversed/non-reversed rules during assembly to avoid affecting the device's magnetic function.
Force control: Use "moderate force" when pushing or pulling the tape—too light and it won't be in place, too heavy and it may damage the component interface.
Conclusion
Although TAPEDRIVE's disassembly and assembly process involves operating small components, it can be easily completed by following the principles of "fix first, then disassemble" and "follow rules, return to original positions".
